Vesper Zephyr

It was night. The howling wind crept through the window of my abode, anon blowing out the candle lights. Rain fell, accompanied by ferocious thunder. Cold as it was, my heart was burning with flames of joy, for I have created something that will alter the entire world—the invisibility potion. I’ve read quite a few books about the dream of being invisible, but none aroused as much excitement as my own invention. 
    “If it really would work…” I thought, wearing an odd grin, neither good nor evil. “I shall be not only invisible, but also invincible!”
    Gulp, gulp, gulp… I drank the complete bottle of liquid without second thought. Within a blink of an eye, my body became extremely hot, as if a new layer of skin was being seared onto me! I roared. Yet I couldn’t stand the painful torment, thus I lost consciousness.
 
The sun rose as I slowly opened my eyes. Still feeling dizzy, I stood up to open the door. Much to my surprise, the doorknob turned with nothing touching it!
   “My hands are gone!” I gasped to myself as I glanced at the mirror near by. “And I have vanished…into the thin air.”

Being a hollow person was surely interesting. I spent the whole day running along sidewalks pinching pedestrians, like I was some magical prankster. I read other people’s letters, notes and diaries, and I just couldn’t get enough of it. A few days later, this practical joking life became somewhat boring.
     “Whatever I do, no one will know; but putting things into crime, can that be condoned? Now that I can do anything, should I stand on the path of the righteous, or evil?” 
    Trapped inside the dilemma, I sat on the front porch of my home, hesitating. Not until someone passed by did I stand up.“I guess I’ll put it into a test.”
    That man was a nefarious scoundrel. He always treated me like a naïve child and beat me up just because he was stronger, and a lot bigger than I was. Ire took over my heart as I began my retaliation.
    “You won’t beat me this time.”
